I take the drugs 2x a day for adrn hyperplasia and pcos and have seen no reduction in my male hormone levels or the facial and body hair growth and loss of hair in my temple. Pharmacy suggested trying a doc with a more natural approach such as using only progesterone. Is that a good idea? I'm 43.

I produce too much adreneline which makes my mind very hyper active even though I appear quiet on the outside. Are there any good herbs or other homeopathic remedies for this? Can an enlarged thyroid again be a sign of adrenal shut down?
Can an enlarged thyroid be a sign of adrenal insufficiency? I had an enlarged thyroid caught 7 years ago which lead to the diagnosis of adrenal insufficiency they shut down temporarily and I had to be on steroidds so I wouldn't die on the operating table to repair my neck from a ruptured disc. The endocrinologist thought it may have been from the epidural injections to help control my pain. I was able to stop the steroids about a year after the endocrinologist said my adrenals woke up. Just recently my gynecologist caught enlarged thyroid again and I had blood work done to check cortisol levels which I won't get the results for a week. I had several injections including an epidural and trigger points from Dec to May of this year because my pain was not being controlled by the spinal cord stimulator I have. I tried to tell doctor about it but he only spent 30 seconds to a minute with me each visit and he said he wouldn't give me anymore injections after I mentioned the concern with my adrenals but he did give me a non cortisone injection in May which made me worse. I switched doctors & the new awesome dr. did mention back in June before I knew about the enlarged thyroid that I could decide if I wanted to try a facet injection and if it worked then I could go for radio frequency to heat up the nerves in the joints of the neck or I could just stay on pain medicine. Once I told him about the enlarged thyroid and concern with my adrenals this past week, he reminded me that he didn't have any problem not doing procedures unlike the previous dr. who pushed injections on his patients if I didn't want to have a new trial injection till after I see if my adrenals are o.k. which is most important. I really like the fact that he spends time speaking to me rather than just wanting to do a procedure. It could be 3 months wait before the endocrinologist will see me very busy doctor unless my primary calls and can get me in sooner with the endocrinologist. My neck is swollen like I have a goiter but I really don't want to take steroids forever if it is the adrenals again if they don't wake up. I'm just wondering if there is any relationship between the thyroid and adrenals. Thanks for any help.I don't think they tested for autoimmune diseases but primary and pain management doctor did say I would most likely get an ultrasound. I will see about other testing. I only had temporary adrenal insufficiency believed to be from to many epidurals 7 years ago and I've been o.k. till this year. I will ask about being tested for autoimmune diseases.
