Teenage fibromyalgia?
so for the past 2 and 1 2 years i have had severe arm pain, then my shoulders started hurting, and my neck, and my knee is starting to hurt. I went to a rhuematologist and she said she thinks i have fibromyalgia. Its kind of a confusing and i dont really understand what fibromyalgia is... How do you cope with it? treatment? I have been a bit scattered brained for a while now, i just thought it was me being forgetful so i havent told anyone, but i looked at symptoms of fibromyalgia and saw it was a symptom... should i tell some one?

What are the best mattresses for fibromyalgia?
I went looking tonight for matresses and I really liked the icomfort series which is gel and memory foam but my favorite was prana which is all latex. So prana should be the no brainer but its 4,000 dollars too expensive and I would rather not put that much money into that matress if I can help it. I really dont want to spend more than 2,000 dollars. I know it depends on the person but I have a majority of my pain in my hips and I tend to move alot. If that helps. Oh and I have heard about sleep number beds and I dont want one. Any sugesstions would be very helpful because I want a bed this week.

What do (can) you do for fibromyalgia pain relief?

Can someone with fibromyalgia please help?
I feel so alone. I'm in pain everyday. The walk to the kitchen to eat is all I can bare before I have to sit or lie down again. I have terrible insomnia. My fatigue is almost impossible to bare and my family always comment on how I look well or if I'm a little better that day they treat it as if it's a cold.. Like I'll be better tomorrow and I should just suck it up. I feel like I have the body of an 80 year old. And I'm not even 17 yet. I worry about my future, I can't finish school, I can't concentrate and the pain and fatigue is too much. I'm going to try finish at home. Then do university at home and try get an office job or a job at home. I used to be happy and healthy, I wanted to be a pediatric nurse and have kids and get married. But all that feels so unattainable. Please help me, how am I going to live my life?

If you have fibromyalgia are pain medications bad?
I have been taking pain medications for years due to an accident.I have spinal injury, nerve damage, and fibromyalgia the pain medications worked fine for years but now my doctor has decided to stop them and I have no quality of life due to the pain. His reason is because people with fibromyalgia don't respond to pain medications, but I have other issues. What can I do?

Tips and information on fibromyalgia?
I'm only 16 years old, and my mom has been thinking lately that I might have fibromyalgia. I haven't been diagnosed or anything, nor have I seen a doctor for it yet. I've been researching it and I have these symptoms Chronic muscle pain, especially in the neck, shoulders and back, but sometimes I can get it in my wrists, ankles, knees, etc. This pain gets worse towards the end of the day & when it's cold out. I was diagnosed with TMJ about four months ago Tingling and numbness in my hands and feet, but especially my hands. Extreme fatigue all the time, no matter how much sleep I get Stiffness in the morning Anxiety and slight depressionFor anyone who has fibromyalgia, by reading these symptoms, do you think I have it? And are there any tips you have for me on how to control it? Or are there any websites I can go to for advice information on it? Thanks

Anyone here has fibromyalgia?

Any recommendation for a good fibromyalgia dr in Tulsa area?
I've been diagnosed 2 yrs ago, but have been unable to find a dr that can help.

I am currently diagnosed with fibromyalgia, but I have also been diagnosed (then un-diagnosed) with lupus.?
I have met the criteria for fibro consistently, but I have some symptoms that point more towards lupus. Some have been present for about 13 years, and I am only 26. I have had nose ulcers periodically since I was a young teen, I first noticed that I got a red, blotchy rash on my thighs at about age 13, and I have livedo reticularis. I also developed tendinitis first around age 13 in my wrist, at age 16 in my Achilles tendons, and at age 21 in my Achilles tendons and knee. I have Raynaud's and joint hypermobility, which I have had since birth. I was born with my hips out of joint, if that makes any sense. The doctors idiots thought that I would never walk, but I actually walked fairly early, so the congenital hip problem wasn't an obvious issue. Oh, and I have never had red, swollen joints. Should I treat my condition with a medication such as plaquenil even though my blood work is still confusing and iffy? Or should I continue to treat with diet, supplements, and chiropractic care as I have been? I was on a variety of SSRIs, SSNRIS, and SNRIs, as well as tramadol and some other meds, but I am now only taking 2 mg klonopin and 45 mg mirtazapine at night. The supplements, diet, yoga, etc. works much better for me, but I do not want to find out later that I have been totally ignoring the real problem. Help

Does this sound like Fibromyalgia or something more?
I have been sick since August 2011 I have been having chest pain and joint pain all over my body.I get headaches constantly. I am very sensitive to cold it hurts me badly.I forget things and have trouble concentrating.I drop things all the time have brittle hair.I had a primary care doctor who I was seeing he would not refer me to a rheuamatologist because my ANA, antibody and WBC came back fine.So I found one where I did not have to be referred she ran tons of bloodwork on me and what she found was I was vitamin D deficient and that my thyroid was elevated pointing towards Hypothyroid which my mother has and runs in the family.I was given 50,000 units of vitamin D2 for 8 weeks and my regular doctor ran my T3 and T4 for thyroid said it was fine even though my TSH was elevated.I have had chest x rays which showed no fluid around lungs, EKGS, stress test all came back normal.I was wondering if I should of been treated with D3 and not D2 as I know the difference. My primary care doctor said that he was going through my labs and saw that I being close to being B12 deficient so he redid the test checking my B12 level, CBC and folic acid levels, iron levels thinking I had b12 deficiency cause by folic acid or pernicious anemia but I was told this time my test came back fine even though before I was close to being deficient. The rheuatologist thought I had fibromyalgia until it showed thyroid elevated and D deficient.I believe I have a thyroid problem which could make you lack vitamin D or I have a b12 deficiency caused by pernicious anemia which is why I am vitamin deficient because my intestines can not absorb them properly. When my TSH was elevated it was 7 point something. When I took the D2 my doctor said it is converted to D3 through the kidneys but I know D3 is the better form.I have not had my levels rechecked as before I went to see the rehuatologist my regular doctor ran the wrong D test and said it was 29 he put D3 levels the rhueatologist ran the 25 hydroxy which is the most accurate and mine was 18.9.I am afraid whatever it is left untreated it will hurt me badly.
